IT Consulting & Project Delivery
An IT project to get done? Bring in the right expertise. Moving offices, replacing ageing infrastructure or sorting out an unreliable network: we help you plan and deliver the work with a clear scope, practical advice and a documented handover.
Move the project forward with people you can rely on
You may know exactly what needs changing, or just know that the current setup is slowing everyone down. We start by understanding the outcome you need, then work through the options with you. You have someone to ask, a plan you can understand and a clear owner for the next step.
We can work alongside your existing IT provider or internal team. You do not need to move to a managed plan to get a defined piece of work delivered.
What can we help you deliver?
Start with the problem you need solved. We bring together infrastructure, software and security experience to scope the work around your business.
Networks, infrastructure & recovery
For an example of delivery at scale, see our 100-VM Hyper-V private cloud case study. We designed, built, and continue to manage the platform, including its compute, storage, network, and backup arrangements.
Network consulting & Wi-Fi
Resolve recurring connection problems, review network design and plan switches, segmentation and connectivity between sites. Get a documented design and a practical implementation plan.
Firewalls, telephony & office moves
Plan firewall replacements, secure remote access, business phone systems and new-site connectivity. Coordinate suppliers and changes around the way your team works.
Private cloud & Hyper-V infrastructure
Design, deploy or improve private cloud environments, Hyper-V hosts, virtual machines and storage. We work through capacity, backup and recovery requirements with you.
Infrastructure monitoring & management
Set up device health monitoring, alerts, configuration backups and network documentation. Ongoing infrastructure management can be scoped with agreed coverage, response responsibilities and support terms.
Out-of-band access & recovery
Plan a separate management path so supported equipment can still be reached when the main network is unavailable. Scope can include console access, independent connectivity and remote power control where the hardware supports it.
Backup & disaster recovery
Implement backups, test restoration and document the recovery process. Give your team a clear view of what can be recovered, how and who takes responsibility.
Microsoft 365, software & smarter workflows
Microsoft 365 hardening & licensing
Review tenant security, identity, access and licensing against your business needs. Apply an agreed hardening runbook and explain licensing options, including CSP arrangements, before changes are made.
Microsoft 365 & cloud migrations
Plan email, file and workload migrations with the dependencies, user communications and cutover steps agreed. Scope can include Teams, SharePoint and device configuration.
AI & workflow automation
Find the manual work worth improving, then build a practical pilot around a defined outcome. We consider data access, human review and how staff will use the result before expanding it.
Custom software & integrations
Use Python, C# and C development skills to build scoped utilities, connect systems and automate repetitive tasks. Agree ownership, documentation and maintenance as part of delivery.
Business intelligence & reporting
Connect the data you already hold to the decisions you need to make. Improve reporting workflows, define useful measures and reduce time spent assembling the same spreadsheets.
Technology roadmaps & vendor advice
Work through what to keep, replace or improve. Get a prioritised plan tied to your budget and business goals, with someone who will listen and explain the trade-offs.
Security, websites & governance
External penetration testing
Commission an authorised, scoped assessment of internet-facing systems, drawing on OSCP and OSEP expertise. Understand the findings and remediation priorities. Explore our cyber review options →
Website management & WordPress security
Review updates, plugins, access and backups, then scope maintenance and security improvements. Keep responsibility for hosting, recovery and ongoing changes clear.
Security awareness & staff training
Help staff recognise suspicious requests, report concerns and use security controls confidently. Tailor sessions to the situations your team encounters at work.
GRC systems & evidence workflows
Set up risk registers, control owners and evidence collection in governance, risk and compliance tools such as CISO Assistant. Where useful, scope AI-assisted workflows with human review of the resulting records.
Security policies & internal standards
Develop a practical internal security baseline, policies and procedures suited to your organisation. Map requirements to recognised frameworks where appropriate. Explore formal compliance pathways →
A clear process from first conversation to handover
The Novaguard SCOPE Method keeps the project connected to your business goals. We agree what success looks like, investigate the options and confirm the scope before delivery.
- S
Start
Discuss the problem and your current setup.
- C
Clarify
Agree the business goal and measures of success.
- O
Outline
Assess the options, constraints and expected costs.
- P
Propose
Refine the scope, timing and commercial terms.
- E
Execute
Deliver, validate, document and hand over.
The right way to scope and price your project
Fixed fee for defined work
When the outcome and dependencies are understood, we agree a fixed fee for the scoped deliverables. You can see what is included, what you need to provide and how any proposed changes will be handled.
Hourly support when flexibility matters
For smaller jobs, investigation or extra capacity, Block Hours support agreements start at five hours with agreed contract rates and an SLA. We agree the work and budget before starting.
Need an assessment before deciding on the project?
A Technology Business Review can establish what needs attention across your IT environment. For security concerns, start with a Cyber Business Review.
If a client, insurer or tender has named a specific framework, our cyber compliance services cover Essential Eight, SMB1001 and DISP readiness. We can use the findings to shape the implementation project.
Questions about project work
Do we need to become a managed client?
No. Projects can be delivered as standalone engagements alongside your current IT provider or internal team. We agree access, responsibilities and the handover before work begins.
Can you deliver a project for a fixed fee?
Yes, where the deliverables and dependencies are clear enough to scope. We agree the price and exclusions before starting. For exploratory work or smaller jobs, hourly support or a Block Hours agreement may be more suitable.
What happens if the scope changes?
We explain the impact on cost, timing and deliverables, then agree the change with you before carrying out additional work.
What do we receive at handover?
Documentation appropriate to the project, test results, any outstanding actions and a clear explanation of who supports the result. Training and ongoing support requirements are agreed as part of the scope.
Tell us about your project.
